Three San Benito High School parents attended 2015 Texas GEAR UP Parent Leadership Institute in Austin, Texas. According to San Benito GEAR UP Facilitator Ida Garcia, the Parent Leadership Institute is designed to train parents in supporting their children to prepare for and succeed in college. This year, the Institute also provided family engagement and financial planning workshops and an opportunity to tour The University of Texas at Austin campus.
