NJROTC cadets make sizeable donation to food pantry

San Benito Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) cadets from San Benito High School and San Benito Veterans Memorial Academy recently held a food drive in Harlingen’s Treasure Hills area.  The cadets then proudly presented to the San Benito Food Pantry a total of 14 sea bags, containing 1,101 non-perishable food items, as well as $532 in monetary donations collected during the approximately four-hour food drive.

The food drive allowed the cadets to complete some of the community service hours for garnering local NJROTC awards and toward meeting their Community Service requirements for college entrance.
