San Benito CISD recently hired Daniel Gomez, a Raymondville native, to serve as the district’s Athletic Director/Head Coach for the District 32-6 A San Benito Greyhounds.
Gomez, a Raymondville High School graduate, attended Odessa College and Austin Community College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and a minor in History from the University of Texas at Brownsville.

•The women’s basketball team secured a Bi-district championship title in 2012, along with a men’s Bi-District qualifier.
•Lytle also recorded a district championship in baseball along with an area qualification. •During his first year as a head coach, he finished runner-up in District 29-5A and qualified for Bi-District.
•In 2013, the team earned a 5-0 record in district play and secured the first 29-3A Championship title, finishing the regular season with a 7-3 overall record and earning a bi-district qualification.
